With the objective, in relation to COAG data requirements, of continuing collaboration and coordination across education and training and related statistics, the Productivity Data Development Group (PDDG) will provide advice to MCEECDYA and MCTEE on cross sectoral education and training issues such as standards, consistency, collaboration, efficiency and resource use.
The PDDG will address all relevant data sources, including survey and administrative, and identify:
data collection and data quality requirements for the performance indicators in the National Agreements and National Partnership proposals;
gaps or shortcomings in the availability or usefulness of data for measuring performance indicators; and
ways of ensuring an integrated approach is taken to data development that:
a)minimises potential duplication of work while developing links to broader social inclusion and Indigenous indicators cutting across all subgroups
b)manages work requirements as efficiently as possible with due regard to appropriate governance, including a coordinated approach to dealing with external agencies such as jurisdiction data centres and the ABS
c)ensures the most effective use of existing data sources and collection processes is made.
