The National Women's Vocational Education and Training Strategy was endorsed by MCEETYA at the 5th (Brisbane 1996) meeting. The Strategy aims to achieve by the end of 1999:
A measurable change in the profile of women accessing and completing programs of Vocational Education and Training.
In August 1998 a mid-term review of the Strategy was undertaken. The review focussed on necessary adjustments to outcomes, priorities and mechanisms in response to changes in the VET sector since the Strategy was endorsed.
