Curriculum Corporation is a company limited by guarantee which is owned by the Australian Ministers for Education. It was established in 1990 by the former Australian Education Council to support national collaborative approaches to the improvement of school education in Australia.
The Board of the Corporation comprises Directors-General of Education (or the equivalent) from Australia and New Zealand (or their nominees) and representatives of peak national organisations of the non-government school sector, and parents and teachers.
The work program of the Corporation supports Ministers in the implementation of national education priorities and initiatives through the delivery of a range of key services including:
the development, procurement and provision of educationally sound, digital curriculum content for Australian and New Zealand schools;
undertaking curriculum resource development and related activities;
providing service delivery to promote and support high quality curriculum;
developing web-based applications to cost-effectively support large-scale national curriculum, assessment and reporting projects;
publishing and marketing high-quality teaching and learning materials;
delivering teacher professional learning and information services to educators;
provision of bibliographic information for schools.
