In addition to its senior officials committee (AEEYSOC) Council is supported by a number of working groups convened as needed for particular tasks. All working groups report to MCEECDYA via AEEYSOC. These groups have prescribed timeframes and reporting arrangements and are reviewed annually. The operation of working groups is prescribed in the Advisory and Support Structures: Principles and Procedures. Council has also established several companies to provide service delivery of national initatives. The reporting arrangements for the companies are prescribed by their enacting legislation. In addition, MCEECDYA undertakes joint activity with other ministerial councils and joint working groups have been established for this purpose. At least every three years, the Council reviews its priorities and supporting structures. The outcomes of the review process are made available to COAG.
